As I understand it, tourists from different parts of Asia (mostly Japan and Korea), come to Guam for a little fun in the sun and some high-end shopping at DFS (that’s Duty Free Stores – I’d never heard of it until I got here either). They stay here for a few days and head back home.

Apparently the shopping at DFS and some of the similar outfits is much cheaper for our Asian visitors than buying things in their home countries. DFS is just for what I’d consider "high-end" shopping. Being from a small town in the south east, I was never exposed to Gucci and Louis Vuitton, etc, etc, and certainly never heard of Hermes before until I got here. I never conceived that you could spend $1500 on a purse until I saw my mother in law do it.

Feast your eyes on a $100,000.00 purse. According to the nice sales lady in Hermes, this is one of only two in Asia and only a handful worldwide.

Oh, and the watch isn’t included in case you were wondering.
