Road Construction

Road Construction

In the six years I've been here I've never seen a lot of improvements being made to the roads on the island. There's been some here and there, but hardly noticeable.

Over the past couple months, it seems like it's going on everywhere. Maybe it's gearing up for the increased traffic as a result of the influx of people heading to Guam for the big build-up, or maybe a truck load of federal money suddenly became available. Either way, it's good to see the roads being upgraded finally.

Here at the intersection of routes 8 & 16 in my home Village of Mangilao, there's no escape from the delays caused by road construction, except a couple short cuts that I'll keep to myself...

Hopefully soon the days of frequent front end alignments and mumbling expletives while driving and dodging pot holes will be a memory!
