Saving Money: Magic Jack is on Guam!

Saving money is always a good thing. We get lots of questions from our clients that are moving here about the cost of calling home, and they relate horror stories they heard from someone w$37.99 at the Navy Exchangeho's been here about the outrageous costs of dialing U.S. number. It's not so.

Magic Jack

First, calling the U.S. from Guam is, in my experience, no different than calling from Florida to Texas. All the companies, both cellular and residential providers, have a "special plan" for calling the states. And there are several other options to choose from as well. It's not hard to find the deals either. Any given day, but especially on Sunday, the local newspaper is full of ads to get your business.

Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, are all free, and you can use video as well. There' s also Vonage, and most recently "Magic Jack" has been introduced on Guam. I haven't tried it out yet, but I picked one up last week.
