After a tough PCS season with 2011 coming to a close I'm finally finding the time to update our websites. In an effort to get the word out to as many as possible, I just wanted to write about the most significant change in what we do and how we can help make your move to Guam as painless as possible. So, here's a cut and paste from the major part of our update:

Please Read How Our Service Has Changed

Prior to Oct 2010, GuamPCS.com was able to provide all personnel on TLA with a free complimentary rental car to use for as long as they were in TLA status. At that time, we were able to invoice you for your hotel stay directly at your authorized TLA rate. Since our rates with the hotels were lower than your TLA rate, we used the profit we were making to provide you with a car to drive at no cost to you. Thanks to the U.S. Navy Housing Office, Navy Base Guam, regulations were changed at the DFAS level and our invoices are no longer accepted for reimbursement. We have made arrangements with our partner hotels to provide you invoices directly for the published military rate. Unfortunately, this has limited the amount of free services we can offer. We are still happy to provide a free rental car for a period of five days when you book your reservations through us.

What you Get Now:

  1. Hotel Reservations at a TLA approved Facility who will bill you directly to comply with TLA Regulations

  2. Free Rental Car for Five Days or for the duration of your hotel stay, whichever is less.

  3. Free use of a complimentary cellular phone with a local number to avoid costly roaming charges.

  4. We'll meet you at the airport and make sure everything goes as planned.

  5. We coordinate with your sponsor to keep your command in the loop.

  6. Free assistance finding off base rental properties.

We're happy to help anyone, not just active duty military people, that are moving to Guam. This past year our client base has been DoD contractors and several civil service clients, school teachers and a physician from Tokyo.

If anyone would like to offer comments of suggestions on how we can improve our websites, please leave them here or email me at [email protected]. We put a lot of effort into keeping our sites up to date, and all the feedback we've received makes me think it's the best site on the web about Guam and what it's like to live here.
