Bellagio Resort and Spa

A couple years ago I posted about the old Sherwood Hotel that looms on the hill overlooking Tumon. I was always interested in getting inside and having a look, I love going into spooky old buildings since I was a kid. Sherwood had been boarded up since I got here in August 2004, never saw a soul on the grounds. I believe the phrase I used to describe it was "the only thing missing is zombies."

Lately there's been some activity there, people are seen cleaning the place up and painting. With minimal effort, I managed to get a meeting with the owner today and actually see the inside of the building that's been Guam's spooky hotel on the hill.

I was really surprised when I walked in. It didn't look anything like I expected, and much to my dismay, no zombies. Maybe the workers scared them off, there must have been 100 people there working.

So on to the point of the post… The old Sherwood, now the Bellagio, will be open for business shortly. The owner estimates sometime in March units will be ready for occupancy. They are offering 1 & 2 bedroom units, as well as penthouse units for you high rollers. They're also available for short term (month to month) rentals for temporary stays, but at a higher price. Speaking of prices, the new owners are still working out the details but they are keeping the military OHA scale in mind when they set their price. The amenities list is still being put together but I'll say that this is a true resort, and the spa is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

If you're interested, and coming in during March or later in the year, drop us a line and we can fill you in on the details.
