Finally! You were able to find the apartment that suits your taste and lifestyle. However, you always have to remember that you do not really own the place. Thus, you have to adhere to some rules and one of them is the "no nailing on the wall." Bummer for most people, it is only practical since the walls have to be protected, from drilling or unpleasant stick-ons, for future tenants like you. So if you see your wall perfectly empty of holes and adhesives, thank the landlady/lord for the rule. And with all the stuff that you have accumulated and want to fill your rented space with, you only need simple storage solutions to deal with "it", like the following:

  1. Built-in Storerooms

In spite of the "no nailing" rule, most apartments will not deprive you by having built-in pegs, cabinets, wardrobes, and shelves. Most of the time, you'll find these things in the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Maximize the provided storerooms and organizers by hanging and keeping those that need utmost protection like spices, utensils, and cooking ware on the pegs and in the kitchen cabinets; formal wear and undergarments in the bedroom wardrobe; and extra towels and toiletries in the bathroom shelves. If you're lucky, you can also find built-in cabinets under your bed which you can use to store extra bed sheets and comforters.

  2. Coat Rack

For things that you usually use like scarf, bag, and hat, hang them on a coat rack located somewhere near the entrance of the house or your room for easy access. Some coat rack includes a space for umbrellas as well, so you won't worry about looking for something to use when it's raining or where to put your visitors' umbrellas. Another version of this rack which you can also use is the accessory holder. Some looks similar to a small coat rack while others look like that of a tree. Whatever your preferred form is, it can always function in many ways like holding jewelries, keys, or even receipts.

  3. Shelves

Not only can these hold your memorabilias and decors, it can also serve as a wall accent, foyer, and divider. Therefore, it is important to choose your shelves properly because you'll probably need it in your next rented space or own property. More over, you may arrange your knick-knacks according to size, shape, and color. For expert advice, you can always consult online home decor sites or magazines sold near you.

  4. Storage Box

Everything need not be out in the open. Storage boxes are best for those things that you occasionally use and are not pleasing to the overall look of the house. Things like repairing tools and cleaning supplies can be kept in them and hidden under furnitures. For multiple purposes, choose boxes that are sturdy and cool enough to serve as a chair, table, ladder, and/or decoration.

  5. Stacking

Make space in your place by stacking stuff like records, books, and magazines. This way, you can easily look for the ones you need to read or listen to. You can also stack them like a helix to make a conversation and decorative piece in the living room.

Rules can be restricting, but the same things can also open up possibilities and spark creativity in each one of us. So give your wall a rest and think out of the box.
